From Daejeon to Seoul for the Weekend!

This past weekend a group of about 9 teachers got together in Seoul.  The teachers are friends of mine from orientation.  Not everyone could attend since we are spread out throughout the country; however, many came and had a wonderful time.  It was a weekend filled with culture, laughter, and blessings!  We visited the Seoul Lantern Festival for 2011.  I was very impressed to see the creativity and detail in these lanterns.

 On the way to the festival we saw lots of Christmas and winter season lights

 In the background there are red and blue lanterns 

 Each lantern is stationary in a little canal running through the city.  The spectators walk along both sides of the display.  All of the lanterns had description signs.

That evening we did some shopping too.  We found some items that were translated into English and the translation wasn't quite how English speakers would speak.  Some of the sayings were very funny.  There were some errors or just differences in how things are said.

The next day we all went on a tour of the city.  We rode on a bus to many different destinations, could get off the bus for as long as we wanted, then get back on and continue.  It was a great way to see so much of this huge city in one day.

 War Memorial of Korea

 There is a huge inflatable play area in the War Memorial. Interesting to see.  It reminded me of Crazy Bounce!
